Description
The Iron and manganese filters with Crystal Right ™ filter media are specially designed to remove Iron, Manganese, Ammonium and hardness from the borehole filtration system. This way, these major contaminates of borehole and well water are resolved by just one filter, instead of conventional approaches, which require a separate borehole water filter for each problem. The minimum pH requirement for this iron water filter to work efficiently is 6.0, and the Crystal Right ™ media balances the pH in the acidic waters where this is a problem. The iron and manganese filters with Crystal Right ™ works at their best on clear water, i.e. when the iron/manganese are dissolved and can also be used to reduce hardness with no extra treatment.
These borehole water filters for iron and manganese reduction work by an ion exchange process that removes iron, manganese and hardness (and reduces ammonia). As the water travels through the media, the contaminated elements are removed, leaving crystal clear water. There are also available iron water filter models with a timer option that can be set to automatically self-clean (backwash) and wash away any of the accumulated iron and manganese. Cleaning can be set for a given time or after a certain amount of water has been used. These iron and manganese filters can also be used in conjunction with other filters, such as sediment filters if the water has high turbidity or pH correction filters if the pH of the water is very low.
At Whisper Pumps, we supply two types of water supply filters with Crystal Right ™, CR100 is used where the pH is between 6 and 7 and CR200 is used where the pH is 7 or above. Filters with Crystal Right have many advantages over conventional systems and can reduce dissolved iron and manganese even at pH 6, where other filter media fail.
